Out for a walk when something burst

Something burst in the neighbourhood I was walking in today. I was going to post about something else. This is maybe more interesting. Soon after we (my family) approached, a fire truck showed up. The area is called Royal Bay in Colwood, near Victoria, B.C.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. I wasn’t there at the start so I don’t know what happened until I perhaps hear it on the news tonight. I shared it to encourage y’all to ponder everything that goes into building neighbourhoods – infrastructure that needed to keep the water flowing and the lights on, and traffic flowing. I hope this water [leak?] didn’t cause much damage to the ground or whatever.

The gush of water we saw at Royal Bay

Soon there was action to stop the flow

I missed the action while talking with my family. Gladly, the big wrench in the photo above did the trick. Note it’s as big as a rake.

We continued on our walk at the edge of one of the areas still under construction at the big Royal Bay development in Colwood.
